    John Essery `Redaways`, Bridge St. aged 70 Farmer & Hay Merchant
    Francis Newcombe `Yollaberry` (B1895 D1977)
    Jack/John Weekes/Weeks born Richard John in 1896 killed 1918 Commemorated Arras Memorial and Hatherleigh War Memorial.
    John/Jack Meardon B 1872 living in Victoria Road with wife Martha nee Denford and daughter Irene 6 and son Norman 2. Other daughter Gladys 7 was with Grandparents Walter and Anne Denford in Higher Street.
    Jack Meardon left school aged 9 went to work on various farms before signing up and served in India in the Punjab, was at the defence of Ladysmith and also served in the Royal Engineers during 1914-1918 war rising to Sergeant-Major. He was a rural postman and worked on many farms around the area.
